Am I Living?

The other day, I was ruminating with a classmate about how time ticks by in the third year. You can really count the days, when you are not doing that much (although you should be). Before long, I find that American Idol is down to 4 contestants, and now with my favorite dueling pianists Matt Giraud gone, I have no reasons to watch the show anymore. But I remember at the same point of the competition last year, the quarter is closing down.

My classmate and I also share similar grievances about how some less important but more pressing tasks force the important long-term tasks down our lists of priorities.

When I complained to my Dad about the silly things I’ve wasting time on (i.e. the skit show), he said, that is the kind of things which you can only do while in school, so enjoy it!

The things that seem to be keeping me grounded are music, and running. When I am with the instrument or in the gym that is where I find temporary peace and sanity.

Recently I download Fats Waller’s album (and bought transcription of his songs), and the ridiculous tunes are keeping me light-hearted — currently am listening to the song “Your Feet’s Too Big”:

……She thinks you are nice…..but your feet’s too big…don’t want you because your feet’s too big….I hate to tell you, but your feet’s too big.
